slipping, slipping, slipping

Well, as usual, time is flying by. Here is a picture of my edging project mentioned in my previous post (and also a picture of my Mom - who did the quilting for this wall hanging). I don't know if I got a picture of the pillow. I hope I did - but who knows? Both projects were made for my great Uncle John and Aunt Eleanor for their 50th wedding anniversary.

We made a quick dash to Arizona (10-11 hours away) for the anniversary party and it was a lot of fun as you can see in this picture. I am hugging some of my nephews and an adorable niece. I sure love my family!!

Currently I am working on a booga bag - I'll post pics sooner or later. :O)

Child of the 80s

So, I was in my water aerobics class and we were "soaking to the oldies" and... I was thinking... When I get old (and contrary to my children's belief I am NOT old yet - I'm not even 40 and in my family that isn't even middle aged...) and I am still in water aerobics and we're working out to the oldies... Will it be 80s music?

I've been thinking about age a lot lately.

I have been working on a crocheted pillow and some edging for another project (pictures later this week) and I was talking about play practice (I really AM a drama queen) and how I would take my crochet (didn't learn to knit until I was older) and crochet while I was waiting for my turn on stage. My husband made the comment that I've always been old. I don't know. Maybe. But I don't think I'll REALLY be old til I'm sweating to Cyndi Lauper!

Boredom is Underestimated

I grew up in a home where we learned that "the only people who are bored are boring people." I have raised my children with that philosophy.

HOWEVER, I think it is important to remember each day that QUIET does not mean BORING. My life has been so busy that I long for those quiet moments. Knitting. Reading. Playing the piano. I make time for prayers and scriptures and most days that has had to hold me lately.

If you had a quiet day, what would you spend it doing?

So You Think You Can Dance

Benji said about this picture "what kinda karate kid meets tom cruise meets geek?" He's a great guy and I had the opportunity to visit with him for my podcast. If you all are interested in hearing a little more about the spiritual side of Benji - have a listen!

I don't know about you, but my family followed the show start to finish and loved it all. We especially love Benji with his charm and ability to not take it all so seriously.

Who were you voting for? Benji says Tranji merchandise is coming soon. What a kick!

Computer Problems

You know... I started this blog a year ago so I would have a place to talk about the time that is my life. Now that life is so very busy and not always fun I find that I rarely drop in and talk about my life. Go figure.

I have been having computer issues and so it has made it more difficult - but not impossible. So, I'm going to make an effort as I feel that this is a therapy I currently need.

Health issues are mostly over. My mouth still hurts a little, but I think I will survive it. I am playing the flute in church on Sunday (with two friends) and the practice has actually been good for my mouth I think.

Personal issues (16-year-old son) continue, but he's got a good heart and we love him and he loves us so it is okay. Still difficult, but okay.

So I have issues!! Don't you?

Saw Pirates. Didn't love it. Too much icky stuff for me. What did you think?

Cute PIE

Well, here are some more pics of N and Mommy along with a one of his new hat. Yes, KnittyMama - you are the first of my winners. Please email me (whit.k.larson AT gmail DOT com) with your address and I'll send you a goody. I HATED knitting the bobbles, so I crocheted them instead. Same basic look - much easier. It will fit better when his head is slightly bigger. :O) More winners to come! Weird to think the hat picture is a picture of MY baby holding my sister's baby.... time flies!!
