Babies and Blogiversaries (CONTEST)

Well, it is a time for thinking of birthdays and anniversaries. My beautiful sister (pictured here in the hat I made for her birthday last year) is having her third baby boy next week and the 29th is my ONE YEAR BLOG-IVERSARY!!! Hoorah!!
In celebration of these two events, I have decided to have a contest. You have until NOON (EST) on the 29th to post a link to the cutest baby pattern ever (preferably newborn). This does not mean a pattern to knit a baby. This means any item for a baby, whether it be a sweater, hat, booties, binky holder - WHATEVER. If I choose your pattern I will send you a prize. It really is as simple as that!
Join the fun and tell your friends!! I am picky and I am looking for something unique and did I say cute? I don't mind purchasing a pattern - but I'd need to be able to pick it up local or have it be a .pdf for download.

Knitting Oblivion

Well, I guess I've made up for some lost time. I must have had some sort of yarn withdrawl or something. Anyhow, I finished my little
iSock and moved on to a
Celtic Cap for my Dad for his birthday/Father's Day (don't worry, even though the two holidays are always very close for him I make sure to get him double gifts - I'm just not sure which holiday the hat is for....).

I had time this weekend as we went to an outdoor play that we saved seats for hours for and so had plenty of knit time. I'm not sure of the wisdom of knitting in the hot sun with Yak Yarn, but I think the results are pretty fun. I really do love
this pattern by Girl from Auntie. Wonderful!! Maybe you remember that
I've made it before (and the pictures are better because it wasn't charcoal yarn)... Anyhow, now my Katie wants a sock for her iPod and I have a few more gifts to get to so... I guess I really am back!!! :O)

What's on the needles?

First, thanks for the very sweet words - you got me all choked up. You didn't have to say nice things about my picture, though - that was going a bit above and beyond if you ask me!
Anyhow, I've blown the dust off of my trusty old #2s and I'm making
one of these.
I actually took a picture of mine in progress, but it's been so long since I blogged that I actually can't find my cable to get pictures off of my camera. Pathetic, isn't it?
Well, I will post a pic in the next day or so when I figure things out again. Hang in there, friends - I'm getting back on my feet!
I have to go to the laundramat (sp?) and wash all of my sleeping bags for a camping trip tomorrow night. That should be fun (not the laundramat, you know what I mean!!!!!!!!!)
Warshcloths are in, are they? I leave you people for a few days and.......

I'm back... Again!

Well, where do I begin?
First, here's a picture of myself. I had to have photos done for the crochet book that I will have a couple of designs in - more details coming soon! Thanks to my friend (and wonderful photographer), Heather, for the pics.
Okay, the surgery is over and the swelling and bruising are down. I still have tingling and numbness - but that's to be expected. Over all I have healed tremendously quickly. Thank you all for your support, kindness and prayers.
I DO have fibrous dysplasia, which is a bone disease that I don't really want to talk about. Hopefully it will not give me grief in the years to come. I will go in for a CT scan every couple of years to monitor it.
My
new podcast is coming along fabulously and I couldn't be happier about it. Thanks to all of you who are listening - even though you're not Mormon! It covers topics that are of interest across the board to women and men of all religions. Anyhow, I'm having a lot of fun with it and was even on our
local news recently. Terrifying. Radio - YES, television - NO. Not until I get a few (okay, a hundred) pounds off (But I lost 10 last month on Weight Watchers!!). Speaking of radio, we also were featured on a
radio show here in Utah.
With work on my two projects - that went out very late (thanks,
Vickie!!) - I don't have pictures of anything for you. I am thinking about knitting something, though. My fingers are itching! Any suggestions? What's a good "welcome back to knitting" project? What's going around the blogs these days?
Love ya!! THANKS again for all of your kind emails and posts. You are WONDERFUL!!
